Adventure and Mountain Sport Photography

With ALPSinsight, our goal is to inspire you to experience the Alps. Three key elements play a role in this; our own energy and passion for the Alps, our lives as mountain sport athletes, and most importantly, our photography.

As professional mountain sport photographers, many of the images you see on this site are shot for various commercial and editorial clients. We’ve been making our living as outdoor industry photographers since 1999, fully immersed in both image making, and mountain sports, we’ve witnessed huge changes, traveled the world, and met an incredible number of friends who we’ve shared time with on trips in the mountains.

Maybe you aren’t a pro photographer, and maybe you have no intention to become one – but I bet most people who play in the mountains want to make the best possible images for personal memories, social media, or to perhaps feel out the business of photography as a career.

For the last five years, in conjunction with The Viewfinder Center, we have presented an Adventure Sports Photo Workshop in Grindelwald, Switzerland. This year the dates are September 16-18 and will cover all types of photography topics:

  • Technical skills
  • Composition
  • How to work in the mountains
  • The best gear
  • Digital workflow
  • Pro Tips on business

The workshop is for serious hobbyists or for those breaking into the professional world of mountain sport photography.

If you enjoy what we do and would like to spend some time with us learning about photography (and hear a few tales!) – we sincerely hope you’ll join us. For more information about the workshop, and to book, visit the Viewfinder Center.

  1. Do you organise this event every year? I so want to be a part of this. This is like the perfect thing for me. Adventure sports and photography – the two passion I follow. Please do reply to my comment. I have also dropped a mail.

Hi Adam, We don’t offer the workshop every year, sorry! I am actually not sure when the next one will be, I would say keep an eye on our social feed or give our hosts at https://viewfindercenter.com a follow or call. Thanks, hope we meet one day!
